Training begins for new class of soldiers
The training for soldiers who joined the Serbian Armed Forces for voluntary military service in early March officially started today at the basic training centres in Sombor, Valjevo and Leskovac.
The past few days have been an adaptation period for the soldiers, they have been issued weapons and equipment, got acquainted with the basic rules of life and work in the Serbian Armed Forces and will now face a period of intensive training.
Over the next five weeks, they will be taught to use personal weapons and carry out individual tactical actions and procedures in battle; they will practice close-order drills and learn Service Regulations, all the while improving their physical fitness.
Once they complete this training stage, the soldiers will continue their military service at the specialized training centres, where they will undergo more advanced training, teaching them skills required by their military occupational specialties within their branches / services, followed by a three-month collective training and assignment to SAF units where they will be actively involved in the execution of daily tasks.
Soldiers who are interested in pursuing professional military career can apply during their voluntary military service, so as to go through the standard procedure on time and fulfil the criteria for joining the ranks of professional SAF members immediately after completing their military service.
