Cadets’ flight training with combat helicopters

Fifth year students of the Military Academy are currently undergoing flight training with Gamma combat helicopters.
This is the final training stage for Military Academy cadets attending the Military Aviation study programme, preparing them for their entry-level officer duties as pilots with SAF helicopter squadrons.

The training programme includes all segments of flight training, with an emphasis on combat training, making sure that future pilots are fully competent to use this type of aircraft intended for operations against ground targets as part of their missions to provide air support to evolution units on SAF operations.

The cadets have already completed ground training, as well as flight training with the Gazelle Light Multipurpose Helicopter which they used in training over the past academic year.
Cadets have the opportunity to do intensive flight training while still at the Military Academy due to large investments in SAF Air Force and increased availability of training aircraft. In this way, as soon as they are assigned their initial officer duties, they can focus on advanced forms of (re)training as pilots of the latest types of combat and multi-purpose helicopters in the Serbian Armed Forces’ fleet.
