United Nations Staff Officer Pilot Course

A pilot course for staff officers in peacekeeping operations, organized by the United Nations Integrated Training Service and facilitated by the Serbian Armed Forces Peacekeeping Operations Centre, is underway at Base South near Bujanovac.
This is a specialized course aiming to confirm the quality and acceptability of the new staff officer training material prior to its approval by the UN and forwarded to the countries whose troops participate in peacekeeping operations under the auspices of this international organization.

This will improve the current UN standards and procedures and make sure that a uniform, modern approach to work is used by the military component in peacekeeping missions. The fact that our Centre has been selected to host the course is a confirmation of the quality of training and preparation for deployment to peacekeeping operations conducted by the Serbian Armed Forces.
The two-week training course is attended by members of the Serbian Armed Forces and armed forces of 17 other countries, all of whom have previous experience of training for or performing staff officer duties in missions. The course is being delivered by the UN Integrated Service’s team of instructors.

Holding this course in our country helps promote the Republic of Serbia as a country genuinely committed to building and safeguarding peace in the region and the world.
