Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević and the CEO of Telekom Srbija, Vladimir Lučić, attended the signing of the Protocol on Cooperation held in the Old General Staff’s Great War Hall today. The protocol allows all members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces to use the mobile telephony services of this telecommunications operator at rates that are up to four times lower than the standard offer.
The protocol was signed by Colonel Đorđe Kalanj acting on behalf of the Head of the Department for Tradition, Standard and Veterans of the Human Resources Sector, and the executive sales director of Telekom Srbija, Katarina Subotić.

Minister Vučević thanked Telekom Srbija for providing support to the members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces and for being a socially responsible company that recognizes the importance of the work done by the members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces and their contribution to the well-being of the entire community and country.

- Thank you for the confirmation that what the awarded service members do every day, which is their profession and their job, is recognized and appreciated. I am extremely happy that we have such people in our ranks. I believe that other companies will follow the example of Telekom Srbija, which is the leader in many great things in the Republic of Serbia. The Ministry of Defence wants to see things like this - granting better housing loans, offering better telecom packages, better TV and internet services, all the essential things in life. We want to help the members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces to live better, we want their families to live better and to feel that they are respected, esteemed and valued by the whole country and all the citizens of Serbia - said the Minister of Defence and once again congratulated the award winners on their results.
According to the CEO of Telekom Srbija, Vladimir Lučić, the Serbian Armed Forces have been one of the first and major users of the company's mobile telephony services for two decades.

- As we are all aware of how important the military is for our country, as our country invests more and more in the military to make it even stronger, it is only natural that we enable the members of the military and their families to communicate even better. With the development of the 5G network, we will certainly have more joint projects and with this project we will do our best to make your communication as simple and as easy as possible - said the director of Telekom Srbija.

To celebrate the signing of the Protocol and to show gratitude and appreciation for the work they do, the director of Telekom Srbija presented mobile phones to the best commanding officer in the Serbian Armed Forces - base commander in the Ground Security Zone, Captain 1st Class Marjan Filipović, the best training instructor, Master Sergeant Miodrag Mitrović from the Training Command, the best nurse – head nurse at the Rheumatology Clinic of the Military Medical Academy, Dubravka Obradović, to the best athlete in the Serbian Armed Forces, Sergeant Đuro Borbelj from the Military Academy, to the winner of the award for the best scientific work/doctoral dissertation in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, Dr Milica Rajović from the Military Medical Academy, the best researcher Milenko Trifković from the Military Technical Institute and the best Defence University cadet, Nikola Vasić from the Military Academy’s 145th class.

Also, I would like to thank the Ministry of Defence, the Serbian Armed Forces and Telekom Srbija for offering mobile services to service members at special rates and thus helping us reduce our household expenses when using the tariff - said Sergeant Borbelj.

The protocol signed today has considerably expanded the list of benefits for professional members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces offered by Telekom Srbija.
