Today, a delegation of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces, led by Brigadier General Jovica Matić, laid wreaths and paid homage during a commemoration of death of field marshals Živojim Mišić and Petar Bojović and Army General Pavle Jurišić Šturm held at the New Cemetery in Belgrade.
As part of the state ceremony wreaths were laid at the graves of glorious warlords by representatives of the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs, the City of Belgrade and associations that cherish the memory of liberation wars of Serbia led at the beginning of 20th century.
Field marshals Živojim Mišić and Petar Bojović and Army General Pavle Jurišić Šturm participated in Serbian-Turkish wars (1876-1878), Serbian-Bulgarian War in 1885, Balkan Wars and in First World War. All of them died in Belgrade, Field Marshal Mišić on 20th January 1921, Field Marshal Бојовић on 19th January 1945, and Army General Pavle Jurišić Šturm on 14th January 1922.
