Counter-terrorism and counter-sabotage training

Counter-terrorism and counter-sabotage training, which members of special and MP units have been undergoing over the past several months at the Dog Training Centre in Niš, has ended.
Professional soldiers – dog handlers have been trained to utilize working dogs on special operations and to give first aid to injured and wounded dogs. Working dogs have also undergone adequate training.

In line with the tasks that dog handlers and dogs will be performing in SAF units, general training was conducted, as well as the practice of skills such as overcoming natural and artificial obstacles, breaking into buildings and motor vehicles and neutralizing enemies, including one of the most important segments of the training, dogs jumping out of a helicopter on the ground and neutralizing an enemy.

The dogs at the Centre have been carefully selected and bred for this purpose, and following their training, they were assigned to special and MP units, where they will perform tasks alongside their handlers with whom they underwent training over the past several months.
Special operations training for dogs and handlers helps enhance the capabilities of the Special Forces, since dogs, owing to their superior senses and ability to overcome the enemy quickly and without the use of lethal force, are irreplaceable companions to soldiers during the execution of numerous task.
