Ceremony to mark beginning of training for youngest SAF soldiers
Training for soldiers of the December 2023 intake officially started today in the units of the Serbian Armed Forces in Sombor, Valjevo and Leskovac.
Previously, upon their arrival at the barracks, the soldiers went through a period of adaptation, were issued weapons and equipment and were acquainted with basic rules of life and work in the Serbian Armed Forces.
They will soon embark on intensive training during which they will be trained in their military occupational specialties for which they have been recruited.
Over the next five weeks, at the basic training centres, they will be taught to use personal weapons, carry out basic tactical actions and procedures in battle, perform sentry duty and improve their physical fitness.
Afterwards, they will undergo branch-specific individual specialized training, followed by collective training during the second period of military service in the Serbian Armed Forces’ units.
Soldiers can apply for admission to professional military service while still performing their voluntary military service, following which they will undergo standard procedure to meet the requirements for joining the ranks of professional members of the Serbian Armed Forces immediately after completing their voluntary military service.
