Chief of Serbian Armed Forces General Staff visiting Romania

Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff General Milan Mojsilović is on a three-day visit to Romania, at the invitation of the Chief of Defense Staff of the Romanian Armed Forces, General Daniel Petrescu.

The official part of the visit started today with a welcoming ceremony held for our delegation in front of the Ministry of National Defense in Bucharest, which was followed by a bilateral meeting between General Mojsilović and General Petrescu and the new Chief of Defense Staff of the Romanian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Gheorghiţă Vlad.

During the talks, it was jointly stated that the cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and the Romanian Armed Forces is successful, comprehensive, and constantly improving in quality and quantity, which facilitates the enhancement of capabilities of the two armed forces and further strengthens confidence and friendly relations. Both sides expressed their determination to further develop bilateral military cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
On this occasion, General Mojsilović pointed out that the Republic of Serbia highly appreciates the principled support of Romania regarding the issue of preserving the territorial integrity of our country and thanked for the professional engagement of the Romanian contingent as part of the international forces in Kosovo and Metohija.

In the continuation of the visit, General Mojsilović will attend the Chief of Defense Staff of the Romanian Armed Forces handover ceremony in front of the Carol I National Defense University in Bucharest, and on the last day of the visit he will attend a military parade marking Romania’s National Day.

High-level meetings like this provide impetus for additional improvement in defence cooperation and strengthening the overall interstate and good neighbourly relations between Serbia and Romania.
