Intensive training in 72nd Special Operations Brigade

As part of their regular cold-weather training, members of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade are carrying out various tactical and firearms training activities, both in the area where the unit is stationed and outside its peacetime base.
One of the segments of training at the “Rastko Nemanjić” barracks in Pančevo was attended today by Deputy Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, Lieutenant General Želimir Glišović, accompanied by the brigade commander, Brigadier General Miroslav Talijan, who gained an insight into the unit members’ ability to carry out the tasks assigned to them.

As part of the training programme, combat teams today practiced countering diversionary attacks and fighting in urban environment, counter-terrorism action and surprise raids, as well as rope-climbing techniques. They also conducted live-fire drills using various types of weapons.
Professional soldiers, who were admitted to the unit as part of Project 5000 in early August, are also actively participating in the training activity, and their results are confirming their readiness and motivation to make great psychophysical effort and achieve high training standards required for members of special forces.

Basic and advanced special forces’ training, carried out in the 72nd Special Operations Brigade throughout the year, provide the soldiers and officers with outstanding skills in fulfilling the tasks in all tactical and weather conditions and on all kinds of terrain, which results in high combat readiness of this elite SAF unit.
