Serbian Armed Forces engage in snow clearing operations
By order of the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, the Serbian Armed Forces were among the first ones to help civilian authorities clear up the roads following heavy snowfall in our country.
At the request of emergency management HQs, engineer working groups drawn from the Third and Fourth Army Brigades have been deployed to Babušnica and Vranjska Banja municipalities to clear up snow deposits from local roads, whereas in Svrljig, drivers and highly mobile military vehicles have been transporting power company crews that are fixing damaged parts of the power grid.SAF troops are on standby in affected areas, monitoring the situation and, if needed and requested by local emergency management HQs, ready to help citizens deal with the heavy snows by engaging their personnel and machinery.
In this way, members of the Serbian Armed Forces are showing that they are always at the service of citizens, not only to defend the country, but also to help the people affected by an emergency.
