Study Visit to Air Force and Air Defence by Students of the Military Grammar School



The first and second grade students of the Military Grammar School paid a study visit to Air Force and Air Defence Command in Zemun, and 204th Air Brigade at the military airfield “Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović” in Batajnica.

The visit was carried out in line with teaching curriculum for the students of the Aviation Department, with the view to familiarising them with the manner of education of Serbian Armed Forces pilots, and for them to gain immediate insight into their regular flight activities carried out by aviation units.

In the Air Force and Air Defence Command, the students were received by the Chief of Staff of this operational unit of the Serbian Armed Forces, Brigadier General Gordan Pavlović, who presented their missions and tasks, and informed them about the selection process that the students undergo during their education at the Military Grammar School and then the Military Academy until they acquire the title of a military pilot.

Later, the students of the Military Grammar School visited the airfield in Batajnica, where they had an opportunity to see a flight simulator for MiG-29 aeroplane, and to attend the activities of members of 204th Air Brigade throughout a regular flight day. On this occasion, a flight in helicopter Mi-17 was organised for them.

The Military Grammar School is an educational institution founded in 1970, with the main task to prepare students to continue their education at the Military Academy, contributing at that to the establishment and development of motivation, ethical personality traits, intellectual and psychophysical capabilities necessary for the vocation of a Serbian Armed Forces officer.
