Municipal MoD office opened in Koceljeva

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević visited today the newly opened municipal office of the Ministry of Defence Centre in Koceljeva, the local self-government of Šabac.
The opening of this office, Minister Vučević said, has ensured easier accessibility to the Ministry of Defence in this part of the Mačva administrative district.

- First of all, I would like to thank the local self-government, the Koceljeva municipality for the initiative. They approached me some time ago, with the proposal that after 20 years, Koceljeva should get a recruitment office again. Respect for the Serbian Armed Forces is deeply rooted among the residents of Koceljeva, among the residents of this part of the Mačva district, which has a rich history - emphasized Minister Vučević.
A significant number of boys and girls from the Koceljeva municipality, he said, apply for the Military High School and the Military Academy, as well as for voluntary military service.

- Now, these young boys and girls do not have to go to other municipalities, they can get answers to all their questions in their own municipality. Of course, I am also talking about the reserve component, for those of us who have paid off our debt to the country earlier in our lives. It is much simpler to get it all done in your own town - said the Minister of Defence.

Head of the Regional Centre of the Ministry of Defence in Valjevo, Colonel Zoran Smiljanić, informed Minister Vučević about the most important tasks within the competence of the Centre that have been completed and that are yet to be completed in the period to come, and about the cooperation with the local self-government.
After his visit to the newly opened municipal office of the Ministry of Defence, Minister Vučević also visited the construction site where works are underway on the market hall, as well as the pre-school "Poletarac" in the Koceljeva municipality.

- I would like to thank the municipality management for giving me the opportunity to visit the largest investment projects in Koceljeva. I have seen the future market hall that will provide excellent conditions for people selling agricultural products and services. I have also seen something that I am very familiar with, since I was a mayor for 10 years – the new kindergarten. Things like that always take me back to the times when I was committed to dealing with such things. It is a great success, and no one can take that away from you, when you finish projects like this, such as this beautiful kindergarten in Koceljeva, which will solve the problem of kindergarten waiting lists, so that everyone will be able to enrol their children, so that the children can come here to socialize, make friends, learn in the best conditions. Congratulations on that - said Minister Vučević.
This changes the quality of life in small municipalities, the Minister of Defence said.

- Let's not always talk about big cities and about the largest investments in terms of money. It is not always a matter of mathematics, but a matter of attitude towards people and, above all, a matter of the citizens’ expectations. No part of Serbia must be neglected. Things cannot be identical everywhere, but they must be well-balanced and all parts of Serbia must develop evenly. Congratulations to everyone, Koceljeva has been on the safe route for many years now. I hope this municipality will continue to develop, that the economy will grow, that people will do good work, that the crop yields will increase, that the people who left the country will come back - said Minister Vučević.
Today's event was attended by Acting Assistant Minister for Human Resources Siniša Radović, chief secretaries to the cabinets of the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Defence Žarko Mićin and Brigadier General Goran Momčilović, Deputy Head of the Defence Obligations Department, Colonel Snežana Vasić, Head of the Mačva Administrative District Željko Marjanović, Head of the Moravica Administrative District Marko Parezanović, Head of the Kolubara District Miloš Milutinović, President of the Koceljeva Municipality Dušan Ilinčić and MP Veroljub Matić.
