Minister Vučević attends display of new assets at Nikinci range

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević attended today at the Weapons and Military Equipment Test Centre “Nikinci” the display of new weapons and military equipment that are being handed over to the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as the assets that are undergoing the final testing phase before being introduced into the armaments of our armed forces.
During the display, Head of the Defence Technologies Department, Brigadier General Slavko Rakić, and Colonel Stanisav Mijailović from the Development and Equipment Directorate (J-5, General Staff) briefed Minister Vučević on the displayed new assets that are to be handed over to the Serbian Armed Forces units, as well as on their importance and characteristics.

After today’s display, Minister Vučević was satisfied that the operational capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces would be significantly enhanced by putting in service the new complex combat systems developed by the Military Technical Institute and the defence industry factories.
On that occasion, Minister Vučević highlighted that Serbia is continuously investing in modern weapons and equipment for the armed forces. According to him, today’s display at the Nikinci range was a confirmation that the decision of the state and military leaderships to rely on own defence capabilities was wise and far-sighted, particularly in the midst of complex geopolitical circumstances.

He said that we would continue to equip the Serbian Armed Forces units with state-of-the-art combat means in order to further strengthen the combat readiness of our armed forces, as well as the safety and security of all the citizens of our country.
Among the assets that are being handed over to the Serbian Armed Forces and those that are undergoing the final testing phase, the display at the Nikinci range showcased new series of 4x4 Miloš armoured combat vehicles, PASARS self-propelled air defence artillery missile systems, Miloš unmanned platform, modernized BVP M-80 AB1 infantry fighting vehicle, 4x4 BOV OT armoured personnel carrier, various types of newly produced infantry and artillery ammunition and other assets.   The display was attended by Acting Assistant Minister for Defence Policy Predrag Bandić, chief secretaries to the cabinets of the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Defence Žarko Mićin and Brigadier General Goran Momčilović, Director of the Military Technical Institute Colonel Prof. Aleksandar Kari and representatives of the factories belonging to the Serbian Defence Industry.
