Gun salute to mark Armistice Day

On orders from President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić, members of the Guard fired a 10-volley gun salute using six artillery weapons at the Kalemegdan Terrace today, to mark the World War I Armistice Day.
The gun salute ceremony to mark the upcoming national holiday was attended by State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Mile Jelić and Deputy Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, Lieutenant General Želimir Glišović.

The Guard Orchestra played the anthem of the Republic of Serbia while the national flag was being raised.
Serbia has celebrated the Armistice Day as a national holiday since 2012 in commemoration of November 11, 1918, when the Allied Powers signed an armistice with Germany, thus ending the First World War.
