International CIMIC Course
An international civil-military cooperation course organized by the CIMIC Department (J-9) of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff started in Kruševac today.
The course participants are CIMIC officers and NCOs from the Serbian Armed Forces and armed forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Italy, North Macedonia, United States of America, Netherlands and Montenegro, as well as representatives of civilian institutions of the Republic of Serbia.
During the two-week training at the “Car Lazar” Barracks in Kruševac and at the “Ravnjak” Range, they will be taught to perform various roles within CIMIC teams and units at the tactical level and learn more about the activities of civilian organizations in the areas of multinational operations.
Practical and theoretical training is being jointly delivered by a team of instructors from the Serbian Armed Forces and armed forces of Italy, USA and the Netherlands, as well as visiting lecturers from the Sector for Emergency Management of the Ministry of the Interior, the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration and the Red Cross of Serbia.
This international course provides trainees with a basis for a better understanding of modern challenges facing service members when working with civilian organizations in a complex operational environment, and it is also an opportunity for officers and NCOs from different countries to exchange experiences of cooperation with non-military structures.
