Chief of Serbian Armed Forces General Staff visiting Hungary



The Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, is on an official visit to Hungary with a delegation, at the invitation of the Chief of the General Staff of the Hungarian Defence Forces, Colonel General Gábor Böröndi.
  The official part of the visit began today with a welcoming ceremony for our delegation and a wreath-laying ceremony at Heroes’ Square in Budapest, followed by a meeting between Generals Mojsilović and Böröndi and official talks between the delegations of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Hungarian Defence Forces. 
 
The plenary meetings included the discussion on the current security situation in the region and the world, military-to-military cooperation and possibilities for its further improvement.
  The importance of Hungarian troops’ engagement with KFOR and their professional commitment to the preservation of peace and security for the people living in Kosovo and Metohija and the protection of Serbian cultural, historical and religious heritage was particularly emphasized.
 
It was concluded that the cooperation between the two armed forces is intensive and substantial, that it is characterized by continuous improvement in quality, and that it greatly enhances interoperability and combat readiness. An agreement was reached to intensify joint training activities in the coming period.
 
According to General Mojsilović, the visit was successful, the military-to-military cooperation corresponds to the exceptional relations between the two countries at the political level and the Republic of Serbia is committed to the further development of the overall bilateral relations with Hungary.
