Meeting with Ambassador of Italy to NATO

Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, today received Permanent Representative of Italy to NATO, Marko Peronaci, and his delegations.
The meeting at the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff discussed the current security situation in Kosovo and Metohija and the cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR, with a focus on the engagement of the Italian contingent as part of the international forces in our southern province.

During the conversation, both sides expressed their commitment to preserving peace and stability and highlighted the importance of keeping contact at all levels between the Serbian Armed Forces and international forces in Kosovo and Metohija for effective preventive action and prevention of crises in the southern Serbian province.
Speaking about the current security situation in Kosovo and Metohija, which he described as unstable and unpredictable, Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff pointed out that KFOR, as the sole legitimate security actor in the Province, is expected to monitor the situation on the ground and be the first to respond to every attempt to jeopardize the safety of the Serbian population and our cultural, historical and religious heritage.

General Mojsilović recalled a series of unilateral and provocative acts undertaken by the provisional institutions of self-government in Priština, describing such acts as contrary to the efforts made by the Republic of Serbia to ease the situation on the ground.
