Minister Vučević visits Eparchy of Žiča
Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević visited the Eparchy of Žiča, one of the oldest eparchies of the Serbian Orthodox Church. The Minister of Defence was welcomed by Bishop Justin of Žiča.
Minister Vučević and Bishop Justin talked about the eparchy’s work, the importance of the chaplaincy service in the Serbian Armed Forces, and about the assistance provided by the military to the citizens and the monasteries belonging to this eparchy. The Minister of Defence also visited St. Sava Church in Kraljevo, where icons are currently being painted on the walls, and expressed his satisfaction with the opportunity to visit one of the largest eparchies. He emphasized the importance of other monasteries in the Eparchy of Žiča that have preserved the spiritual and cultural values of the Serbian people throughout history.
Minister Vučević was accompanied on his visit by Head of the Defence Minister’s Cabinet, Brigadier General Goran Momčilović, and advisers to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Nikola Banjac and Danica Stanisavljević.
