Minister Vučević meets with newly appointed Ambassador of Japan
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević today met with the newly appointed Ambassador of Japan to Serbia, Akira Imamura.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Vučević emphasized that overall relations between Serbia and Japan are good, showing a tendency towards further advancement. He also said that Japan is one of Serbia’s important Asian partners.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the visits from the highest-ranking Japanese state officials to Serbia in the past period have prompted efforts to further improve the relations between the two countries, including the development of defence cooperation. Particular emphasis was placed on increased investments coming from major Japanese companies after their arrival in Serbia, which greatly contributes to the strengthening of Serbia’s economy, development of high technology and higher employment.
Ambassador Imamura highlighted that, during his term as ambassador, he will make a personal effort to enhance the cooperation between Japan and Serbia.
