Regular rotation of SAF team in EUTM Somalia

Members of the Serbian Armed Forces, who have been engaged as part of the medical team in the European Union Training Mission in Somalia (EUTM Somalia) since February, returned to the Republic of Serbia last night after successfully completing their participation in the mission and handing over duties to a new contingent.
Over the past six months, our team successfully carried out all the tasks related to preventive healthcare and treatment of the injured and ill personnel, demonstrating the professionalism and skill of members of the SAF’s Medical Service Corps.

They were replaced in Somalia by their fellow doctors and medical technicians who were deployed to the area of operation in mid-August and who began their six-month engagement after the duty handover.

The Serbian Armed Forces contingent in this EU military operation includes a staff officer serving as the mission's chief of medical corps and a five-member medical team responsible for providing medical training support and primary medical care to international troops stationed at Mogadishu Airport.
The Serbian Armed Forces began participating in EUTM Somalia in 2012, and, so far, more than 100 doctors and medical technicians have been deployed to this African country to work as part of the mission command and medical team.
