CBRN units’ pre-deployment training

A unit of the 246th CBRN Battalion designated for participation in multinational operations under the Operational Capabilities Concept, is undergoing training at “Car Lazar” barracks and Ravnjak military complex in Kruševac.
Members of this SAF unit are undergoing comprehensive preparations and complex training in an effort to reach the level of skill required for the execution of missions in an international environment.

During this period, the focus is on tactical drills preparing the personnel for carrying out collective tasks they might face in multinational operations, such as the CBRN decontamination of land, people, weapons and equipment, patrolling, setting up checkpoints, protection of forces and facilities, and the treatment and evacuation of the injured.
In the next period, the CBRN unit designated for deployment will conduct tactical field exercise at the “Borovac” training ground and “South” base, where the unit’s competence and interoperability will be checked and assessed.

The Operational Capabilities Concept is one of the forms of cooperation under the Partnership for Peace Program, through the application of which the Serbian Armed Forces reach the standards of interoperability and develops the operational capabilities of the units designated for participation in peacekeeping operations.
