Minister Vučević Visits Army Training Centre in Požarevac
Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević visited Army Training Centre in the barracks “General Pavle Jurišić Šturm” in Požarevac.
On that occasion, Minister Vučević had a meeting with Deputy Commander of the Training Command General Jovica Matić, and units’ commanders in the Training Command who presented to the minister key tasks and plans for the period to come.
After the meeting, Minister Vučević observed a demonstration of training for attenders of Basic Non-commissioned Officers’ Course carried out on a simulator for the training of M-84 tank crews, after which ensued a demonstration of making a passage across a minefield, then crossing of an Infantry combat vehicle M-80 A across the minefield, and the emplacement of firing position by 122mm self-propelled howitzer, and firing preparations. Furthermore, the attenders of the course demonstrated to the minister of defence the procedures for providing physical security to certain persons both static and on the move, as well as the work of a reconnaissance squad in the base region.
During the tour of the Centre, Minister Vučević talked to the attenders of the Course when he made sure that they are motivated to master the required training and that they will adopt the knowledge necessary for the performance of NCO duties. The minister of defence thanked the members of the Training Command on their dedication to their work and execution of tasks.
In the framework of today’s visit to the barracks in Požarevac, Minister Vučević visited Centre’s Memorial Room.
Today’s visit was also attended by Head of Private Office of Deputy Prime Minister Žarko Mićin and Head of Private Office of the Minister of Defence, Brigadier General Goran Momčilović.
