International exercise Platinum Wolf 23 begins

International Tactical Exercise Platinum Wolf 23, involving the armed forces of the Republic of Serbia and nine other countries, started today at the South Base near Bujanovac.
The exercise hosted by the Serbian Armed Forces and EUCOM will be conducted at the Borovac Range and the South Base until June 27. The purpose of the exercise is to enhance interoperability and mutual understanding among the militaries of partner states engaged in
peace support operations in a multinational setting.

Over the next two weeks, officers, NCOs and soldiers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Great Britain, Greece, Italy, Hungary, Romania, USA, North Macedonia, Slovenia and Serbia, approximately 600 of them, will be practicing the tactics, techniques and procedures used in peacekeeping operations, with an emphasis on the use of non-lethal weapons. The exercise scenario includes urban warfare, defence of the base, crowd control and manning checkpoints.
The Platinum Wolf exercises, conducted in Serbia since 2014, are important for improving the ability to plan, organize and conduct international exercises, and for SAF units to increase their capabilities in order to be engaged on multinational operations using, among other things, non-lethal weapons.
