Visit from Hungarian Ministry of Defence delegation
State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Nemanja Starović met today with a delegation from the Ministry of Defence of Hungary headed by Deputy Secretary of State for Defence Policy László Hajnik.
State Secretary Starović said that the relations between Serbia and Hungary were at a historic high and characterized by an intensive political dialogue. He thanked Secretary of State Hajnik for Hungary’s strong support for Serbia’s EU integration process.The delegation has also met with Assistant Minister for Defence Policy Predrag Bandić. On that occasion, he said that the defence cooperation with Hungary was rather comprehensive, showing a continuous upward trend in areas of mutual interest. Assistant Minister Bandić highlighted the importance of this visit in the context of the approaching ministerial meeting that will take place during the next joint session of the governments of the Republic of Serbia and Hungary.
Both sides have confirmed their commitment to further development and strengthening of relations in the field of defence. At the meeting, a draft text of the agreement on improved strategic defence cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Hungary was agreed on.
