Joint Response 2023 exercise activities and live fire drills

As part of the active phase of the joint tactical exercise of the defence forces of the Republic of Serbia - Joint Response 2023, participating units are carrying out tactical live-fire drills and are practicing tactics, techniques and procedures for conducting military operations.
New troops, which had been conducting individual drills at their home stations for the past several days, have been fielded onto permanent and temporary exercise areas to get involved in the exercise activities.  The resubordination of units and formation of temporary units have been completed, and there are currently more than 4,000 members of the Serbian Armed Forces and a Ministry of the Interior contingent at exercise areas.

In line with assigned missions and tasks, numerous tactical drills are being conducted, including the protection of command at the halt and on the move, gathering intelligence, providing protection and support to troops on operation, executing combat action on rivers and lakes, destroying commando/terrorist groups and major forces carrying out combat action on the attack.
The execution of scheduled firing practices continues. Soldiers fire from tanks, Lazar 3 and BRDM-2 armoured vehicles, infantry fighting vehicles, self-propelled howitzers, anti-armour missile launchers, mortars, grenade launchers and various personal weapons.

At this stage of the exercise, the fighter-bomber units carry out battle drills featuring engagement of surface targets in peacetime locations, and as in the previous days, part of the troops are carrying out the activities on the move.
All participants in the exercise, both officers, NCOs and soldiers of the Serbian Armed Forces and members of the Ministry of the Interior, are highly motivated and are carrying out their tasks in a professional and responsible manner, as evidenced by excellent and very good scores achieved at firing practices conducted so far.
