State Secretary Starović meets with Head of British Army Medical Services General Hodgetts
State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Nemanja Starović met today with the Head of the British Army Medical Services, Major General Timothy Hodgetts, who is paying an official visit to our country.
State Secretary Starović congratulated General Hodgetts on his appointment as a visiting professor at the Medical Faculty of the Military Medical Academy, Defence University. He pointed out the importance of promoting defence cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the United Kingdom, which had been marked by high-level meetings over the past period.
State Secretary Starović singled out the possibility of establishing closer cooperation in the sphere of military medicine, which is one of the pillars of Serbia’s overall bilateral military cooperation with the United Kingdom. According to him, visits and exchanges of experience between representatives of medical services of the two countries’ Armed Forces contribute to the strengthening of capabilities of the two ministries of defence.
State Secretary Starović thanked Britain for donating an interactive classroom to the Military Medical Academy.
General Hodgetts agreed that it was important to maintain the continuity of cooperation in the sphere of military medicine as one of the main areas of cooperation between the two countries. He conveyed the readiness of the British side to continue cooperation between the two Armed Forces’ medical services in all areas of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by the British Ambassador to Serbia, Sian MacLeod.
