Send-off for members of SAF deploying to EUTM-RCA

A ceremony for the Serbian Armed Forces contingent deploying to the European Union Training Mission in Central African Republic (EUTM RCA) was held today at the Peacekeeping Operations Centre in Belgrade’s "Banjica" barracks.
The Serbian contingent that will spend the next six months in this European Union military operation comprises a staff officer that will be serving as the mission’s Chief Medical Officer and a six-member medical team that will be responsible for providing preventive health care and outpatient treatment to members of the international forces. They will replace the SAF medical personnel who have been engaged in EUTM RCA since October last year.

Today's ceremony was attended by the Chief of Operations Department (J-3) of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, Lieutenant General Želimir Glišović, and the Ambassador of the European Union to Serbia, H.E. Emanuele Gioffrè.
Serbia’s contribution to the EU mission in the Central African Republic began in 2016. SAF’s engagement in both UN and EU peacekeeping operations contributes to building and preserving peace in the world and strengthening Serbia’s foreign policy position.
