Minister Vučević Meets Ambassador of Slovenia Bergant
Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević met the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia in the Republic of Serbia Damjan Bergant.
On that occasion, Minister Vučević underlined that the cooperation between the two countries were characterised by good relations with the tendency towards further development, and he also expressed his belief that such trend would continue in the period to come. As Minister Vučević said “the relations between the two countries offer the opportunity and room for further enhancement of defence cooperation in a way that it reflects mutual interests”.
He pointed out that the upcoming meeting at ministerial level in Ljubljana was an opportunity to exchange positions on the relations in the field of defence and the prospects for further development.
At today’s meeting, Ambassador Bergant emphasised the support of Slovenia in the process of the accession of Serbia to the European Union. As he stressed “Slovenia is oriented towards strengthening defence cooperation between the two countries, especially towards the continuation of several-year long cooperation in the field of archival material.
The Slovenian Ambassador highlighted that “apart from bilateral, there is a highly successful cooperation of the two states and armed forces in the framework of the Balkan Medical Task Force, “Graz format”, “Central European Defence Cooperation - CEDC” and other regional initiatives”.
