World Veterans Federation Congress opened
The World Veterans Federation Congress, which gathers together the representatives of 40 countries, was opened at the Guards’ Club in Topčider today. The international conference was opened, on behalf of the President of the Republic of Serbia, by the Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Nikola Selaković. It was attended by State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Nemanja Starović and Deputy Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, Lieutenant General Petar Cvetković.
The veterans, who gathered for the conference, laid down the fundamental principles and goals of the World Veterans Federation, highlighting the promotion of peace and security for the benefit of all nations of the world. A special focus was given to providing support and assistance, strengthening the rights and position of veterans, victims of war and their families.
