Infantry battalion undergoes training
The members of the Third Army Brigade’s infantry battalion are undergoing training in carrying out unit-specific tasks in combat operations, using the Lazar 3 wheeled armoured fighting vehicles. The training is being conducted at the training area and at the unit’s peacetime station.
This routine training is conducted in cycles throughout the year. Its purpose is to maintain the battalion members' skills in using this modern vehicle in combat and to provide additional training to professional soldiers who have recently assumed their duties in the unit.
In this period, the emphasis on the practical training of Lazar 3 crews and rifle squads, including preparations for task execution, carrying out tactical actions on the move and during defensive and offensive operations, and performing maintenance of all subsystems and weapons.
Continuous execution of various training activities and practical training using the Lazar armoured fighting vehicle ensures a high level of combat readiness of the infantry battalion as well as crews' confidence in the reliability and efficiency of this asset, whose introduction into the SAF armaments has improved the mobility, firepower and safety of infantry units while undertaking combat actions.
