Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Vučević meets with U.S. Ambassador Hill
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević met with the U.S. Ambassador to Serbia, H.E. Christopher Hill, today.
Minister Vučević said that bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and the United States were in an upward trend and that, traditionally, the most fruitful segment of cooperation was in the field of defence. He said that we greatly appreciated the cooperation related to joint military exercises and training, as well as the U.S. donations for the defence system of the Republic of Serbia.
According to Minister Vučević, the Republic of Serbia continues to pursue a balanced defence policy and is making continuous effort to improve and further develop defence cooperation with all countries and international organizations, in accordance with Serbia’s long-term strategic commitment to maintaining its neutral status.
The Republic of Serbia, Minister Vučević said, is strengthening its defence capabilities in a responsible and appropriate manner, and the top leadership of the Republic of Serbia provides maximum support for the equipment supply, modernization and enhancement of operational and functional capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces.
Ambassador Hill expressed his hope that the Republic of Serbia and the United States of America would increase the level of cooperation in all areas of mutual interest in the coming period.
