Meeting between Assistant Minister Bandić and representatives of Romanian Ministry of National Defence
Today, Assistant Minister for Defence Policy Predrag Bandić met with the delegation from the Romanian Ministry of National Defence, led by State Secretary and Chief of the Department for Defence Policy, Planning and International Relations Simona Cojocaru.
The interlocutors discussed the political and security situation in the Western Balkans and the current global threats and challenges.
Assistant Minister Bandić said that Serbia highly appreciated Romania's principled position with regard to the respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country, as well as its support for Serbia becoming a full EU member. He noted that defence cooperation between the two countries was developed and emphasized the importance of continuing the cooperation.
State Secretary Cojocaru said that Romania remained an advocate of the accession of Western Balkan countries to the EU and expressed support for our country’s European integration process. She said she was satisfied with the achieved level of defence cooperation, and expressed support for intensifying it further, to the mutual benefit of both countries.
Both sides agreed that they were committed to developing relations within the framework of regional initiatives.
They also exchanged proposals for the Defence Cooperation Program for the next year, and expressed their expectation that the two ministries would implement all initiated projects and agree on new projects in the coming period.
