Observance of Military Holidays
Today, the Serbian Armed Forces held military celebrations to mark the Day of the Third Army Brigade and Day of the Third Training Centre.
Day of the Third Army Brigade was marked in Niš in memory of 7th October 1912, when the Second Infantry Regiment of the First Call of Morava Division “Prince Mihailo” better known as the “Iron Regiment” started its engagement in the First Balkan War. On the occasion of the holiday, the ceremonial formation of Brigade members was lined up which was followed by summarising the results of work achieved in the previous period and the most deserving members received rewards.
Looking back on the achieved results, particular stress was placed on the professionalism, dedication and competence of the Third Brigade members which they demonstrated in the realisation of all assigned tasks in the area of their responsibilities, giving their full contribution to the preservation of security and stability in this part of our country.
Barracks “Vojvoda Petar Bojović” in Leskovac held a military celebration to mark the Day of the Third Training Centre, which is observed in memory of 7th October 1918, when the Serbian Army freed the town of Leskovac.
During the celebration, rewards were presented to the most deserving individuals, wreaths were laid at the memorial in the barracks after which the results of the units’ work were reviewed with a reminder that the period between previous and this holiday was marked by successful conduct of basic training for four generations of soldiers on military service as well as numerous professional advancement courses of professional cadre of the Serbian Armed Forces.
