Minister Stefanović Meets Delegation for the French Republic
Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović PhD met a delegation of the French Republic MEDEF International, which is paying official visit to the Republic of Serbia, with whom he talked about the defence cooperation between the two countries.
Minister Stefanović stated that Serbia cherishes friendly relations with the French Republic, which is among our most significant economic partners having in mind the scope of the overall commodities exchange and the value of our import and export, and he also underlined that defence cooperation has been intensified in the previous period keeping up with the overall upward trend of the cooperation.
He assessed that the cooperation was particularly developed in the military-to-military and military economic fields, and that there is still room for its further enhancement through the cooperation of our military institutes and defence industry factories on joint projects.
Ambassador of the French Republic in Serbia Pierre Cochard, who led the delegation consisting of representatives of companies “Airbus” and “Tales”, pointed out that France is oriented towards the deepening of cooperation with Serbia in all areas, including the field of defence.
Cochard and the representatives of the companies within the MEDEF International pointed out that the French Republic perceives Serbia as a reliable partner in the field of military economic cooperation, and they agreed that the cooperation between our military industries would give it a new quality.
