Training of Climbing Instructors and Mountain Rescue Service



Over two previous months, the 63rd Parachute Brigade organised and conducted a summer course in climbing and mounting rescue service, which was attended by members of the Serbian Armed Forces and Sector for Emergency situations of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia.

The training was carried out for the purpose of practical and methodological training of the attenders in autonomous conduct of climbing training and execution of search and rescue tasks on mountainous and impassable terrains.

Apart from theoretical instruction, according to the programme, the attenders underwent different forms of practical training, from mastering the tactics and techniques of moving on difficult terrain, climbing, rescue and evacuation of the persons in danger or the injured, to the organisation of save life and work in difficult conditions. During the training, the participants used modern climbing, alpine equipment and rescue equipment in use by special units of the Serbian Armed Forces, and the course included the engagement of Air Force and Air Defence helicopters.
 
With successful conduct of this course, the Serbian Armed Forces and Ministry of the Interior gained certified and competent instructors for the training in execution of complex and high-risk tasks in search and rescue service.
