Minister Stefanović visits candidates for admission to 63rd Prachute Brigade
Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, has visited candidates who are undergoing selective training for admission to the 63rd Parachute Brigade at the “Sergeant-Pilot Mihajlo Petrović” military airfield in Niš. On this occasion, he has expressed satisfaction with the fact that more and more young people wish to become members of our elite 63rd Brigade and has announced that the provision of new equipment for this unit will continue.
- For several years now, there has been an increase in the number of young people interested in trying their hand at becoming special forces serving in the 63rd Parachute Brigade, and this year the number of candidates has been the highest so far. Today, we have had the opportunity to see what the selective training looks like for the soon-to-be members of the 63rd Parachute Brigade, and to learn more about a much more complex part of the training that awaits them - said Minister Stefanović.
Out of a large number of interested candidates, a total of 12 Serbian Armed Forces members and civilians who have applied for admission to the 63rd Parachute Brigade and who are currently undergoing selective training at the airfield in Niš have passed a strict selection process.- I am glad that commanding officers in charge of this unit and everybody else here is highly motivated. In the coming period, we will do our best to provide them with new parachutes and state-of-the-art equipment, which will make it easier for them to carry out their tasks. Everything that these wonderful people have done for Serbia over the past period, and what they are doing now, clearly shows their readiness to help these young SAF members and civilians become fine members of this special unit, who will always be ready to protect Serbia and its people - said Minister Stefanović.
During the Minister’s visit to the "Sergeant-Pilot Mihajlo Petrović" military airfield in Niš, Deputy Commander of the 63rd Brigade, Colonel Nenad Bulatović, briefed Minister Stefanović on the training program, tasks and purpose of the selective training. Afterwards, the Minister spoke to the training instructors and candidates.
