"Military Doctor in the Country” campaign in villages of Deževa and Trnava

Residents of the villages of Deževa and Trnava near Novi Pazar have undergone health check-ups with specialist doctors working in the Niš Military Hospital, as part of the “Military Doctor in the Country” campaign. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, who has requested that the military health take part in this campaign so that it could be organized more often, has stressed that this is another way of showing people that the military is always there for them, ready to help them whenever needed.
"We will make sure that our specialist doctors visit village health centres and homes in remote places, where the local residents, mostly elderly people, have poor access to health care, as often as possible. It is important that they know that they have not been forgotten and that their armed forces care for them. The residents of Deževa and Trnava have been examined by our cardiologists, rheumatologists and endocrinologists today. The crowded waiting room and people’s enthusiasm are proof that we have done the right thing," said Minister Stefanović.

The Minister of Defence thanked the Niš Military Hospital doctors, the Novi Pazar Health Centre and the local self-government for co-organizing today's campaign, providing medical examinations to approximately 100 locals.
Today, Head of the Military Health Department, Brigadier General Radivoje Anđelković, DVM, Head of the Niš Military Hospital, Colonel Dr. Veljko Milić, the Director of the Novi Pazar General Hospital, Dr. Meho Mahmutović and the director of the Novi Pazar Health Centre, Dr. Ervin Ćorović have joined the team of military doctors in the villages near Novi Pazar.

According to Head of the Niš Military Hospital, Colonel Milić, military doctors have already helped the residents of this area by providing care to Covid patients at the Military Hospital in Novi Pazar.
"This campaign, i.e. cooperation, was designed, among other things, to examine patients for potential post-Covid syndrome, which is becoming an increasing problem for health care day by day," said Colonel Milić.
The Director of the Novi Pazar Health Centre, Dr. Ćorović, has said that today's campaign is of great importance for the Health Centre and the locals.

"This is a great benefit for our patients, because they are being examined by eminent experts. The health centre is crowded and the locals are satisfied. This means a lot to us, because we have managed to provide first-rate health care in our village health centres," said the Director of the Novi Pazar Health Centre.
The residents of Deževa and Trnava have been examined by a cardiologist, rheumatologist and endocrinologist using an electrocardiogram (EKG) test, and their blood sugar levels have also been checked. Doctors from local health centres, who are familiar with the health problems of the residents living in that area, have helped and collaborated during the campaign.
