Course on integration of women into Armed Forces

Members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces are taking part in the Course on the Integration of Women in the Armed Forces. Twenty participants are taking part in this course, which has been organized as part of the International Military Education and Training program (IMET), with the support of the U.S. Embassy’s Belgrade Office of Defense Cooperation.
In his opening remarks, Colonel Robert Kordik, Head of the European Integration and Project Management Directorate, Defence Policy Sector, has underlined the importance and contribution of this course. According to him, this course is important for the development of bilateral relations in defence with the United States, as well as a confirmation of the commitment of the Ministry of Defence to make advancements towards gender equality.

Lieutenant Colonel Alexandro Pedraza, Chief of the US Embassy's Office of Defense Cooperation, expressed satisfaction with the development of cooperation on gender equality and stressed the course’s potential for exchanging experience and finding modalities to address women's underrepresentation in defence systems globally.

The course will take place until June 10, 2022, when the participants will be awarded certificates of course completion.
