Minister Stefanović meets with Italian Ambassador Lo Cascio

The outgoing Italian Ambassador, H.E. Carlo Lo Cascio, has paid a farewell courtesy call on Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, today. Minister Stefanović thanked him for his commitment and effort to improve defence cooperation between our two countries, which reflects the development of overall bilateral relations characterized by strong strategic partnership.
Minister Stefanović has said that a large number of bilateral military cooperation activities have been undertaken in the recent period, including two visits from the Italian Minister of Defence Lorenzo Guerini to Serbia in December 2020 and March 2022. According to him, defence cooperation will continue to move upwards in the coming period by engaging in activities in key areas, such as military to military cooperation, joint participation in multinational operations, military-economic, military-educational and military-medical cooperation.
Ambassador Lo Cascio has emphasized that high-level meetings have formed a solid basis for improving cooperation in all areas and underscored the Italian side’s interest in deepening bilateral military cooperation, for which there is considerable potential. Italy will remain Serbia’s friend and partner, said Ambassador Lo Cascio, particularly providing support to Serbia in the EU integration process.
