Minister Stefanović attends training and firing at Pasuljanske Livade
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, has visited the March class of soldiers performing their voluntary military service and the Basic Infantry and Artillery NCO Course participants at the "Pasuljanske Livade" range where their training is underway. Minister Stefanović has commended their performance and praised the enthusiasm and commitment they have demonstrated during the training, emphasizing that he is particularly happy that most of the young people who are performing their military service have already expressed their wish to become professional soldiers.
- Today I’ve had the opportunity to see the training received by young members of the infantry and artillery. Some of them fired 120 mm mortars while others trained as "Gvozdika" self-propelled howitzer crews. For me, it is extremely important to see that these young people are motivated, that they are satisfied with their instructors and the time they have spent in the military so far - said Minister Stefanović.
He is happy that the Training Command has made sure that young soldiers are given the opportunity to spend most of their time in the military as soldiers, undergoing training with their commanding officers, conducting fire practices using their hand arms and weapons used by their branches, instead of spending their time engaged in peripheral activities.
- I can see considerable progress. The Training Command works better and harder every year, creating really good soldiers in a short period of time. My compliments to them! Thank you to these wonderful young people, who have come here to serve their country on voluntary basis. We are extremely glad that they have decided to perform their military service voluntarily, and of course I am particularly happy that most of them have expressed their wish to continue their careers in our military units once they complete this six-month voluntary military service. I wish them good luck. We are as proud of them as their families - said Stefanović.
Minister Stefanović was welcomed at the "Pasuljanske Livade" range by the Training Command Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Muharem Fazlić, and was briefed on the activities and training program conducted at “Pasuljanske Livade” by the Commander of the Army Training Centre, Lieutenant Colonel Duško Jović. The Minister watched the members of both branches perform combat and tactical actions while conducting the firing. Following this, he talked to 109 soldiers from all over Serbia, who are currently undergoing training at "Pasuljanske Livade", about their impressions and plans for the future.
