Minister Stefanović meets with Bishop Vasilije of Srem
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, has talked to Bishop Vasilije of Srem about marking the centenary of the unification of the provincial churches into a single Serbian Orthodox Church and the establishment of the Holy Synod of Bishops.
Just as one hundred years ago, the Serbian Armed Forces will respond to the request of the eparchy and take part in the celebration of this jubilee at the square in Sremski Karlovci.Minister Stefanović congratulated Bishop Vasilije on the jubilee, emphasizing that the military has always stood with its people, in both good and bad times, and that it is always ready to help. He also said that he was glad to mark this important date in our history, which symbolized unity.
Bishop Vasilije said he was pleased that members of the Serbian Armed Forces would take part in the celebration in Sremski Karlovci at the weekend, noting that, a hundred years ago, the military also played a significant role in the ceremony that took place in Sremski Karlovci.
