Minister of Defence of Federal Republic of Germany Christine Lambrecht Visits Serbia
Today, in the building of the Old General Staff, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović PhD met Minister of Defence of the Federal Republic of Germany Christine Lambrecht, who is paying an official visit to the Republic of Serbia.
They agreed that the visit is an indicator of successful bilateral defence relations between the two countries and of the intention to further develop them.
Minister Stefanović singled out the procurement and training for H-145 helicopters as the most significant aspect of the military technical cooperation for the Serbian Armed Forces. As he assessed, German donation of DINGO military ambulances will contribute to further enhancement of the military medical cooperation, which has been established by the joint participation of members of the two armed forces in the European Union mission in Mali, which represents the most developed area of defence cooperation between the two countries.
Stefanović and Lambrecht also talked about the opportunities for the enhancement of the cooperation in the field of military education, and the engagement within EU Common Security and Defence Policy.
On this occasion the minister expressed his gratitude for the support that Germany has been rendering to Serbia on its path of the European integration, which is the strategic foreign policy goal of our country, while Minister Lambrecht reconfirmed the full support of Germany underlying that her country will stand by Serbia in this process as a true and reliable partner.
Furthermore, at the meeting, the minister of defence of the Federal Republic of Germany evaluated the military cooperation of the two countries as highly developed noting that there is room for its further enhancement.
