Minister Stefanović: The most important asset of our armed forces is the people

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, has visited non-commissioned officers attending the training courses at the "Sergeant Milunka Savić" Training Centre in Pančevo today. According to him, besides military equipment that is constantly purchased to enhance the capabilities of our armed forces, it is important that the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces never stop thinking about investing in our armed forces’ most important asset, the people.
Minister Stefanović was welcomed in the Pančevo barracks by the Training Command Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Muharem Fazlić, and the Commander of the Training Centre, Lieutenant Colonel Predrag Vasović, briefed him about the Centre’s missions and the courses delivered there.
  - The Training Command is proof that it is important to invest in the training of our personnel. Today I’ve had the opportunity to see our best soldiers who come here from different units to attend the courses that prepare them for their first NCO roles, and some already trained non-commissioned officers whose jobs entail the planning of the most important operations and who are being trained to adequately respond to all the challenges that such roles bring, using the newly acquired knowledge - said Minister Stefanović.

The Minister of Defence was happy to see that they were in a good mood and full of enthusiasm.
  - I am glad to see that these young people genuinely want to earn their place in the Serbian Armed Forces and pursue their careers in uniform with great patriotism and a strong sense of belonging to our military. I told them that I expect them to be totally dedicated to their jobs, I expect them to remember what it was like to be a soldier and to think that way about soldiers, and not to forget that they are entrusted with people's lives, which is why we expect them to fulfil their duties in the most serious way. Watching various activities performed at the training ground, I could see the Training Command’s commitment to work and the quality of the courses and I must praise them for the activities shown today, and all other activities I have seen in the last year and a half - said Minister Stefanović.
Today, he has attended the physical and military topography training, and disciplinary exercise conducted as part of the 20th Basic NCO Course and the 17th Command and Staff Course at the Pančevo Centre. Afterwards, he had a conversation with course participants who shared their impressions with him.
