Rotation of SAF contingent participating in EU mission in Central African Republic

Having served in the EU peacekeeping operation in the Central African Republic since October last year, the Serbian Armed Forces contingent returned to the Republic of Serbia last night following successful participation in the mission and being replaced with a new contingent.

Over the last six months, our team has completed all assignments concerning preventive health care and the treatment of the injured or ill mission staff. Military medical service and SAF personnel have demonstrated a high-level of competence and professionalism in the best possible way.

The SAF contingent deployed to this EU military operation consists of a staff officer - head of the medical corps in the mission’s headquarters, and a six-member medical team. In early April, their colleges, doctors and medical technicians, arrived in the area of operations to replace them in the Central African Republic.
The Serbian Armed Forces started contributing troops to the EU mission in the Central African Republic in 2016. Through participation in EU military operations within the framework of the Common Security and Defence Policy, SAF members contribute, not only to preserving peace in the world, but also to the European integration process and stronger foreign political position of our country.
