Minister Stefanović visits Accounting Centre

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, has visited the Accounting Centre’s renovated offices and the new server room at the Topčider barracks. According to him, the citizens of Serbia usually have the opportunity to get acquainted with our latest weapons and equipment, but we do not often have the opportunity to present the work of a large group of people who are the logistics and whose responsibility is to help our Armed Forces and the Ministry function perfectly.
  - Thanks to what we have done in recent period and the great efforts of the President of the Republic and the Government of Serbia, today we have the most modern means which make the Serbian Armed Forces the strongest bulwark for the defence of Serbia. However, today I’ve had the opportunity to visit the Accounting Centre, part of the MoD Budget and Finance Sector, where the great people who work here introduced me to their latest achievements, improvements in IT, new technologies and data processing speed – said Stefanović.
Thanks to their work, he pointed out, employee earnings calculation and all payments are made within shortest period of time, and preparations for the defence of our critical infrastructure against potential attacks are made.

- I am glad to see that they always think two steps ahead, that the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces and all other entities operating jointly with our system can safely rely on these people. They are creating a stronger security system and thus a better and safer future - said the Minister.
During the visit, Assistant Minister for Budget and Finance Katarina Pavičić and Head of the Centre Colonel Tomislav Radivojević, PhD, briefed the Minister about the Accounting Centre’s scope of work and current steps in process digitalization, and the Minister took the opportunity to talk to the employees and learn more about their daily tasks.

They noted, among other things, that no funds had been invested in the infrastructure and technological modernization of this institution for decades, and as a sign of gratitude for providing support and improving work processes, Colonel Radivojević presented Minister Stefanović with the Accounting Centre plaque.
Along with Minister Stefanović, State Secretary Branko Živanović, Head of the Defence Minister’s Office, Colonel Stevan Kotarlić, and Head of the Infrastructure Department, Colonel Slobodan Starčević, visited the Accounting Centre.
