Minister Stefanović attends ceremony marking Republika Srpska Police Day
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, has attended today a ceremony marking the Police Day and the 30th anniversary of the Ministry of the Interior of Republika Srpska at the Ministry of the Interior Training Centre in Zalužani near Banja Luka. Minister Stefanović extended his best wishes for the holiday and said that Republika Srpska police had never chosen an easy path and that it had always been committed to preserving peace, security and the freedom of their people and had fought for it.
Minister Stefanović congratulated the President of Republika Srpska, Željka Cvijanović, Serbian member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency, Milorad Dodik, Prime Minister Radovan Višković, Minister of the Interior Dragan Lukač, Police Director Siniša Kostrešević and all members of the Ministry of the Interior of Republika Srpska on this important anniversary.
- The Police of Republika Srpska has never chosen an easy path and it has always been committed to preserving peace, security and the freedom of its people and has fought for it. Many of them have given their lives and today we must remember them and members of their families – said Minister Stefanović.
He has had an opportunity, he added, to meet great professionals among Republika Srpska police officers, exceptional and committed people, who make sure that people in Republika Srpska live a safe, peaceful and stable life.
- Peace and stability are the key message in this region, I would say. The convincing victory of President Vučić in yesterday’s election is exactly that message – that we want to live in peace and harmony, to strive for economic growth so that our children can live better every day – said Minister Stefanović.
As part of the ceremony, Minister Stefanović attended the weapons and military equipment display and the mock exercise performed by members of the special police force. Today’s ceremony was also an opportunity for him to visit the construction site of a new police academy building.
