Cadets undergo flight training with “Lasta” trainer aircraft
Military Academy cadets attending the Air Force programme of study are undergoing flight training with "Lasta" trainer aircraft at the "Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlovic" military airport in Batajnica.
The goal of the training conducted by 252nd Training Squadron flight instructors is to train fourth-year Military Academy cadets to fly this type of aircraft independently, which is a prerequisite for further training with G-4 Super Seagull trainer aircraft.
The programme consists of various segments of flight training, from basic, navigation, aerobatic to instrumental flying, including bad weather takeoff and landing practice. The cadets had previously successfully completed the ground flight preparations and technical training for the "Lasta" aircraft, and they were completely ready to proceed to flight training.
Thanks to the Lasta and G-4 Super Seagull flight training that cadets undergo while still studying at the Military Academy, the Serbian Armed Forces get young pilots who are ready for advanced training and retraining for more complex types of aircraft as soon as they are assigned to their posts in units. This improves the aviation squadrons’ capability to perform flight tasks and the overall capability of the Air Force and Air Defence to conduct air operations.
