Meeting between ministers Stefanović and Ružić to discuss drafting of new law on military education



Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, met today with First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development Branko Ružić to discuss the drafting of a new law on military education.  Minister Stefanović said that the purpose of today's meeting was to acquaint the Ministry of Education with the draft law, and emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two ministries when it comes to its harmonization with the regulations governing this area in our country. According to him, the drafting of the new law on military education was preceded by an internal procedure in which the solutions put forward by representatives of organizational units of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces were harmonized, giving particular importance to the views of representatives of military schools.

The Minister of Defence proposed that an expert meeting be arranged in the coming period, where representatives of the two ministries would have an opportunity to exchange opinions and harmonize positions on the new law on military education.  Minister Ružić thanked Minister Stefanović for today's meeting and pointed out the importance of regulating military education by law. He said that his associates would carefully consider the text of the draft law and accepted the invitation for the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development team to participate in the meeting whose topic would be the new law on military education.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Minister of Defence for Human Resources Katarina Tomašević, Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Milica Ćatić, Rector of the Defence University, Lieutenant General Goran Radovanović, PhD, Commandant of the Military Academy, Colonel Srdjan Blagojević and Head of the Military Grammar School, Captain Miroslav Ćitić, and Minister Ružić was accompanied by State Secretary Prof. Ivica Radović, Assistant Minister for Higher Education Bojan Tubić and Assistant Minister for Secondary Education Miloš Blagojević.
