Minister Stefanović and Serbian national shooting team members with military school students
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, attended today a joint training session for members of the Serbian national shooting team and military school students. Noting that military schools offer numerous advantages, but also enable students to cultivate their talents and pursue their interests in excellent conditions, Minister Stefanović invited young people to apply for competition for admission into military schools, which is open until March 31.
Members of the Serbian national shooting team, Damir Mikec, Zorana Arunović, Duško Petrov, Brankica Zarić, Dimitrije Grgić and Jasmina Milovanović, joined the students attending the Military Grammar School and the Secondary Vocational Military School in their training session today. - There are quite a few champions with us here today, Olympic medallists and winners of world and European shooting championships. I would like to thank you all for taking the time to come here today, and of course, to express special gratitude to Jasmina and Dimitrije, members of the MoD’s Sports Unit who coach students of our military schools throughout the year - said the Minister, adding that they are doing a great job, considering that the students of both military schools keep winning medals at all junior championships.
Today's training session with members of the Serbian national team, under the watchful eye of coaches Goran Mikec, Mitja Grgić and Dragan Grbić, was also an opportunity for our young aspiring military shooters to see how our top athletes train.Minister Stefanović also visited the refurbished language lab and the students’ living and work quarters, where he talked to students who have achieved notable success in judo tournaments, mathematics, physics and writing competitions.
The Rector of the Defence University, Lieutenant General Goran Radovanović, PhD, Commandant of the Military Academy Colonel Srđan Blagojević, PhD, Principal of the Military Grammar School Captain Miroslav Ćitić, Principal of the Secondary Vocational Military School Colonel Stevan Mušicki and President of the Military Academy Shooting Club Colonel Dejan Kurtov accompanied Minister Stefanović on today’s visit.
