Three thousand people visit Aeronautical Museum on its anniversary
An exhibition of paintings entitled “First World War Seen through the Eyes of Painters” created by an artists’ colony was presented to visitors on February 15, to mark the Aeronautical Museum Day. About 3,000 people visited the museum on February 15 and 16. The Aeronautical Museum was founded on February 15, 1957, with the aim of preserving material evidence of the origin and development of aviation in Yugoslavia. A great international reputation of this institution was built on decades of collecting cultural goods. In terms of the number and value of exhibits, the museum is one of the major institutions of this type in Europe. Its collections consist of over 200 aircraft, 130 aircraft engines, radars, rockets, simulators, various aviation equipment, numerous books, photographs, and personal belongings of pilots who established and fostered the national aviation.
The museum has been preserving the aviation heritage for decades and is one of the most visited museums in Serbia.
